  • Help Fund Redleg Husky's First Full-Length Album!

    We are Redleg Husky, a folk/Americana band located in based in Boone--you might have seen us play around town at the 2013 Banff Mountain Film Festival, the Harvest Boone Community Outreach Festival, or the Howard Street Exchange Festival. We also have frequent shows at Local Lion and Bald Guy Brew.

    This winter, we’re heading to Knoxville, TN to record a 12-song LP at Wild Chorus Studio. We need your help to make this happen. We have a bunch of great thank-yous available!   • Boone Advent Christian Church Fall Bazaar

    The Boone Advent Christian Church will hold a Fall Bazaar on Saturday, October 12, 2013, from 9 am - 1 pm in the Fellowship Hall (side entrance next to playground). We are located on King Street to the left of King Street Pharmacy and Earthfare. There will be several booths including local artists' work, handmade crafts and holiday items, pottery, jewelry, as well as booths from High Country Souvenirs, Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, Origami Owl, and much, much more. The Bazaar will also include a Silent Auction and Bake Sale. Funds raised will support missions through our Annual Penny Crusade Drive. Thank you for your support!

  • $15 Spay/Neuter Summer Special

    From July 4 through Labor Day, Watauga Humane Society offering $15 Summer Special on Spay/Neuter services, for dogs and cats, both male and female. The goal is to spay/neuter at least 100 pets in need, in the month of July and even more in August! For more information or to make a first come, first served reservation, call Watauga Humane Society at 828-264-7865.

    Anyone can qualify, who is having trouble affording spay/neuter. No lengthy forms or proof of income required. Financial support provided by the Watauga Humane “SNIPS” committee. SNIPS’ mission is to spread the word that Spay/Neuter Is a Positive Solution to pet overpopulation and euthanasia.

    Charlotte 49er Volleyball Camps at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte are dedicated to providing a volleyball camp that is both instructional and informational along with creating a great atmosphere to learn!

    The coaching staff here at UNC Charlotte prides itself on teaching the sport of volleyball to players of all ages and ability levels. All camps are taught by our coaching staff and players. The mechanics and drills that are taught at our camps are used with our college players. We are determined to provide the best possible learning experience for our campers.

  • Pottery Classes!

    Create an original piece of pottery, starting from a lump of clay and finishing it with a beautiful glaze! The class will involve 2 sessions, 2 weeks apart. The dates of the classes are flexible and may be arranged through direct contact with Marie. All classes will be offered between 6/17/2013 and 7/26/2013. The 1st session of the class will involve building your vessel with raw clay. The 2nd session will involve glazing your bisque fired vessel. The cost of the class is $50.00 and includes materials, instruction, and two kiln firings.
