Appalachian Energy Center 2014 Workshop Series Schedule Announced
The Appalachian Energy Center Workshop series covers a broad range of energy related topics from NC Energy Code, Community-based Landfill Gas Development, Solar, Wind, Hydro and more. They provide continuing education credits for professionals to get their continuing education, build their knowledge and stay competitive in the green job market, AND stay for the weekend to enjoy the beautiful NC mountains!

We are Redleg Husky, a folk/Americana band located in based in Boone--you might have seen us play around town at the 2013 Banff Mountain Film Festival, the Harvest Boone Community Outreach Festival, or the Howard Street Exchange Festival. We also have frequent shows at Local Lion and Bald Guy Brew.

Boone Advent Christian Church Fall Bazaar
The Boone Advent Christian Church will hold a Fall Bazaar on Saturday, October 12, 2013, from 9 am - 1 pm in the Fellowship Hall (side entrance next to playground). We are located on King Street to the left of King Street Pharmacy and Earthfare. There will be several booths including local artists' work, handmade crafts and holiday items, pottery, jewelry, as well as booths from High Country Souvenirs, Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, Origami Owl, and much, much more. The Bazaar will also include a Silent Auction and Bake Sale. Funds raised will support missions through our Annual Penny Crusade Drive. Thank you for your support!

$15 Spay/Neuter Summer Special
From July 4 through Labor Day, Watauga Humane Society offering $15 Summer Special on Spay/Neuter services, for dogs and cats, both male and female. The goal is to spay/neuter at least 100 pets in need, in the month of July and even more in August! For more information or to make a first come, first served reservation, call Watauga Humane Society at 828-264-7865.
Anyone can qualify, who is having trouble affording spay/neuter. No lengthy forms or proof of income required. Financial support provided by the Watauga Humane “SNIPS” committee. SNIPS’ mission is to spread the word that Spay/Neuter Is a Positive Solution to pet overpopulation and euthanasia.
