Looking for local, affordable, one-of-a kind gift items and want to support a great cause at the same time? Join Appalachian and the Community Together (ACT) this Friday 11-2 in the PSU. Vendors at this year's event will be the Watauga Humane Society, Hunger and Health Coalition, WAMY, Resort Area Ministries, Elkland Art Center, the Salvation Army, Turtle Island Preserve and Western Youth Network. Items for sale include greeting cards, dog bandanas and other pet accessories, ornaments, t-shirts, calendars, holiday CDs, African jewelry, clothing, handmade goods, and other unique merchandise.
The event which is free and open to the public will be held Friday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the International Hallway of Plemmons Student Union located on Appalachian State’s campus. Appalachian’s Office of Sustainability will provide an alternative gift-wrapping station to get your shopping and wrapping done all at once.
