The Appalachian Mountains of NC have a huge variety of precious and semi-precious stones in its soil. Come to the Peak Creek Ruritan Club meeting on Monday, August 6 at 6:30 pm and learn more about this natural resource. The meeting will be at the Peak Creek Ruritan Community Center, Hwy. 88 East, Laurel Springs. After the meal, prepared by club members, Debbi Farmer, owner of the Gem Valley Mine panning facility which is located near the historic Ore Valley Mine, will discuss gems of NC.
