Description

The Blue Ridge Chapter of the North Carolina Native Plant Society invites you to attend the August 8th meeting in Boone. Our program this month will be "Re-Flowering Along the Blue Ridge Parkway" with Parkway Wildlife Biologist Bob Cherry. When the Parkway was built, design features included areas that were designated as Wildflower Display Areas. Through the years these sites were lost due to lack of maintenance. Parkway staff is now working to restore these sites for the benefit of the visiting public and for local pollinators. Join us to learn from Bob how this work is being done, what the long-term goals are, and how you can help as a volunteer!

Meetings are held every second Wednesday of each month at the Holiday Inn Express on Blowing Rock Road in Boone and start at 7 PM, but the room will be open around 6:30 if you would like to come early and chat with other native plant enthusiasts.
