Holiday Inn Express
1943 Blowing Rock Rd
Boone, NC 28607

The Blue Ridge Chapter of the NC Native Plant Society invites you to our monthly meeting on August 14 in Boone. Dr. David Cozzo from the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians Extension Center will talk about the “Ethnobotany of the 'Little Brother of War', Plants of the Cherokee Stickball Game.” His talk will discuss some of the many plant-based medicines that were applied to influence the outcome of the game.

We will have bare root plants to give away. Please bring ziploc bags or similar in which to put your roots if you wish to take any home to plant.

The Blue Ridge Chapter of the NC Native Plant Society meets once a month in Boone to discuss a topic relevant to native plants. Meetings are free and open to the public. They are held at the Holiday Inn Express on Blowing Rock Road in Boone and start at 7 PM, but the room is usually open around 6:30 if you would like to come early and chat with other native plant enthusiasts.
